inspired by natural hairstyles from freeform locs to twists.  She is adorned with a hand-scripted and drawn Joy “door knocker” earring celebrating urban culture and #BlackJoy! Part of a line of silhouettes from a collection I call “Women of the Sun”.  

This collection was a part of “From the Motherland to the Caribbean: Portraits of the African Diaspora in the Spice Isle” © exhibit at the United Nations in June of 2013. Over the years I have recreated these women in thread, paint and now print. Embrace your crown and glory!
